“I KNOW YOUR WORKS”

THE SEVEN CHURCHES OF REVELATION 2-3

Visit Coinjock Baptist Church on YouTube for Livestream and video services

This is a sermon series delivered at our church on Sunday mornings in the Fall of 2025 that goes verse-by-verse through the second and third chapters of the Book of Revelation. While much of Revelation is concerned with apocalyptic language, details about the future, and the judgment of God upon a lost world, these two chapters contain some of the most relevant words to the Church of Jesus Christ in every age. The Apostle John was commanded to write to the seven local churches of Asia Minor (modern-day Turkey) concerning their current state as the Lord Jesus detailed it. These seven letters serve as a sobering reminder and call for every local church and every Christian to be faithful, diligent, and serious in fulfilling the calling and mission that Christ has given us. From each of these churches, we can learn what Christ desires for His people in very age and seek to live our lives faithfully “unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father” (Revelation 1:5b-6). Let us hear and heed what Christ says in each message to His people.

“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches” – Revelation 2:7,11,17,29; 3:6,13,22
